Description Ivan Bradac 2001-10-04 09:45:24 UTC
The internal compiler does not support the assert keyword which is a new facility as of JDK 1.4.
Comment 1 Svata Dedic 2001-10-04 10:00:11 UTC
Raising priority -- the parser does not support the keyword as well
(it shares code with the compiler).
We can't claim that we are supporting JDK-1.4 development without this
feature.
Comment 2 Tomas Hurka 2001-10-04 12:31:38 UTC
Raising priority to P1. IMHO This issue must be solved before Netbeans
3.3 beta.
Comment 3 Jan Zajicek 2001-11-05 08:28:35 UTC
What's the status of this P1 issue now?
Comment 4 Svata Dedic 2001-11-05 09:06:30 UTC
The same as in September. Sun lawyers are presumably working on that
and it does not seem that Java team can influence the speed of their
progress in any way.
Comment 5 Jan Chalupa 2001-11-27 12:50:04 UTC
Target milestone -> 3.3.1.
Comment 6 Daniel Pfeffer 2001-12-04 15:57:45 UTC
This issue resolution is blocked by a small legal problem related to
new internal compiler based on JDK 1.4 javac. This takes
unfortunately some time, so we need to be patient. Mike B is driving
the legal stuff now.
Comment 7 Svata Dedic 2001-12-10 16:59:22 UTC
Done; since the JDK-1.4 is not yet FCSed, the updated module is being
released through AutoUpdate as an experimental module for users, who
want to play with it's new features.
The code is being merged into the dev trunk as well.
Comment 8 Jan Becicka 2002-01-07 16:57:58 UTC
Module is available via autoupdate.
Comment 9 Quality Engineering 2003-07-01 13:14:31 UTC
Resolved for 3.4.x or earlier, no new info since then -> closing.
