Description Peter Nabbefeld 2009-04-06 07:50:04 UTC
[ JDK VERSION : 1.6.* ]

There's a friend-only SPI in apisupport project. Probably it must be
reviewed before makkeing it public, but it should be possible to
extend the set of customizers. In general, IMHO friend-only APIs
should only be used between modules of the same kit or as a temporary
solution, but apisupport spi is e.g. also used by VMD - this should
be taken as a serious hint, that *public* extensions should be
allowed.

The SPI used by VMD is a rather special case I would not expect anyone else to fall into. Are there some documented use
cases?

No response.
