[ BUILD # : 200903311400 ] [ JDK VERSION : 1.6.* ] This is an issue for all Operating Systems: When I go to manage plugins for the IDE, the tab order places items to download to the left of the tabs that indicate plugins that are already installed. This is confusing to people using the Ruby plugin (and possibly others) where items that are already installed are shown to the left of the items that are available for download. There needs to be a consistent tab placement strategy across all components/plugins and the core platform. Tab sequence for IDE plugins: Updates | Available Plugins | Downloaded | Installed | Settings Tab sequence for Rails plugins: Installed | New Plugins (Available) | Repositories | Settings Tab sequence for Ruby gems: Updated | Installed | New Gems (Available) | Settings
How can I open manager for Ruby plugins, Why it's the issue for IDE plugin manager and not for plugins? Also order may be dependent on supposed usage, it seems the primary usage of IDe plugin manager is to install new plugins/update existent. For ruby it may be more expected configure existent set of plugins.
Ruby plugin manager is in the rails project pulldown menu. I thought I originally submitted this to ruby plugins. Either way, the big difference between the dialogs is where they store the plugins. The project or nb. The issue is that tablesers need to be consistent Eric
Primary purpose of the IDE plugin manager really is finding and installing new plugins. So this is really more of an issue for Ruby ..
