Description davisn 2009-02-04 00:41:34 UTC
None of the Glassfish V2, V1 and V3 JRuby Prelude Servers appear at the Add Server Instance Dialog even they were
activated from the Plugins Panel

Steps To Reproduce:
1. Install Netbean IDE Dev 200902030229 (Feb 03) build
2. From Tools > Plugin > Install > search for Glassfish > select to activate for all Glassfish Plugins
3. From Services tab, right-click Server, select Add Servers menu
BUG:
Only Glassfish V3 Prelude server appears
Comment 1 davisn 2009-02-04 00:49:29 UTC
When I created a Web Project, I was asked to activated Java EE; I activated and select Glassfish V2 as the runtime
server, then I was able to view Glassfish V2, Glassfish V3 Prolude Domain and Apache Tomcat 6.0.18 from the Server list
-I do not see the Glassfish V1, Glassfish V3 Prelude JRuby
-I should not see the Apache Tomcat 6.0.18 server on the Server list

investigating

Quick question: how many times did you press the Activate button in step 2?
Comment 4 davisn 2009-02-04 01:57:51 UTC
2 times.
1st time I didn't see anything so I went back and press again
Comment 5 Vince Kraemer 2009-02-04 03:37:41 UTC
Well, to activate the three plugins that appear in the Plugins dialog at step two, you would need to press the activate
button at least three times (after selecting each of the plugins one-by-one). So it sounds like this is a Plugin dialog
issue, since that wasn't clear to you.

Indeed, we have usability problems with Deactivate that we already track as the issue 103701.

this issue is about the activate button... not the deactivate button.

this issue is a DEFECT in the interface, not an enhancement.

In fact, there is only one single button which change its name (Activate/Deactivate/invisible) and action depending on
the plugins selected (active or disabled).
Both button states (activate/deactive) have the same usability issues within the cooperation with plugins list (can`t
handle multiple selectied, etc).

And, again, it (103701) is the RFE since the current behaviour is as designed (see rmatous` comment Wed Jan 16 14:41:16
+0000 2008).
