There is a high level requirement on JavaFX Plugin to provide third tab of Welcome Page with JavaFX information.
But there is no API to register such "third" tab to extend the Welcom Page.

The design proposal from the URL mentioned here will be reviewed by xDesign.

If my understanding is right, the need for the Java FX tab is to provide Java FX related information to users who
download the Java FX bundle of the NetBeans IDE. THese users right now get generic Java information in the welcome
panel, which is rather irrelevant to them. 

Standalone panel/tab would mean that users who downloaded Java FX bundle would still be getting general information and
to get specific Java FX info, they would have to switch to the Java FX tab manually. 

A better solution seems to be providing Java FX related information directly in the welcome tab for users who downloaded
Java FX bundle. 

We are now discussing the last option with Java FX team as well as with NetBeans development teams.
