Description Petr Dvorak 2009-01-15 14:23:15 UTC
I think it would be nice to have a "netbeans.conf.default" file in the <NB>/etc/ folder (a copy of the original
"netbeans.conf" file), so that if someone - for any purpose - wants to mess with this file (or if the file is
corrupted), he has a recovery point. It would cost us 1.4KB of space or < 1KB if we zip it...
Comment 1 dlipin 2009-01-15 17:30:23 UTC
That is also valid for zip distributions so it`s worth fixing on the other level.
Comment 2 t_h 2009-01-19 11:07:17 UTC
Copy should be created on build and updated by installer if necessary.
Comment 3 Jesse Glick 2009-01-21 00:50:32 UTC
I assigned to platform for the "created on build" part, since that would be part of o.n.bootstrap/build.xml. If the
installer needs to do something, it should be in installer component. nbbuild component should not be used for this.

:o)

... I see this P4 Enhancement is probably very important, as it shows a lot of activity and is often reassigned
(probably everyone needs to see if this change wouldn't affect them somehow).

Please, do not waste too much time with this RFE - it is based on very rare comments from users...

What about just adding comments containing the default values to the netbeans.conf file? (in other words, add 3 lines in
the conf file).
