In the preferences setting for 'files', if you try to add a new extension and associated media type, the dialog box does not enable the 'ok' button nor is there any other way to "add" the new extension. As a result, the IDE does not understand the new association of extension to media type.
Reassigning to platform for further evaluation.
Please, add details (screenshot, JDK, IDE version, steps to reproduce). Which dialog box doesn't enable OK button? Enter New FIle Extension dialog?
It is the "Netbeans Preferences" dialog. 1. Open 'Preferences' via the 'Preferences' menu item under the 'Netbeans' menu (on the mac). 2. Click on 'Miscellaneous'. 3. Click on 'Files'. 4. Click on the 'New' button. 5. Enter 'xul'. 6. Choose the application/xml media type. The 'OK' button does not get enabled. I did that about 5 times yesterday and it didn't work. Today, Wednesday, it decides to work. Makes no sense.
isn't it duplicate of issue 145569?
