Description xwisdom 2009-01-06 02:09:30 UTC
I would like to request that an HTML Format/Cleanup/Validator feature be added to 7.0. This menu option could be used to
properly format html documents. The current Format does not always format the html on the page:

For example: <html><body>Hello world</body</html> will not be formatted when the "Format" option is selected from the
contexted menu.

The HTML validator can be used to check and validate (x)HTML pages based on the document type. It could report broken
tags, missing attributes extra.

This will help to produce standards compliant webpages and applications.

Aptana has a limited support for Tidy, but it's very dull, and breaks mixed code webpages.
I currently use a .bat (in Windows) to call tidy on some pages, but it's a pain in the ass having to manually setup the
settings for each encoding (UTF-8 and Latin1) and for each type (Strict, Transitional and 4.01)

as for the validation we have different code validator solution.
