I'm using NetBeans IDE Python E.A. In Editor/Formatting options you can expand tabs to spaces for all languages and you
can override this setting for text/x-java (which is awkward hence we're using IDE for python.)

My feature request is to be able to select 'expand tabs to spaces' differently for different languages. Such as; you may
want to expand tabs in Python but not in HTML. (As I'm using this convention when developing.) So, it'd be nice to use
spaces in some language but use explicit tabs in a different language.

The infrastructure for this is already implemented in NB6.5. You can set option to expand tabs to spaces to individual
file types, if the module owner chooses to -> reassigning to Python...

btw: How did you install NB Python EA? The fact that you can see "text/x-java" is strange, as this should be displayed
as "Java" (not as it's mime-type)... Also, if you install NB Python EA, you should see only 2 items in the Language
combobox - "All Languages" and "Python"... Or do you have 2 NB installations running in the same userdir?

I installed NB Python EA with the Mac OS X installer. I also didn't install any Java support whatsoever and I don't have
separate installations.

Not sure it is still relevant with the current version. Formatting will need improving. Will track elsewhere. Closing this as old bug. If this is still a thing, please reopen and accept my apologies.

Thanks for your evaluation Julien. Reporter, if you think your issue is still valid and needs to be addressed, don't hesitate to reopen it with additional information. Closing for now.
