Hi Masaki, I would like to ask you to conduct info.xml translation tests for 4 NBMs attached to issue 155119. Due to resource constraints we prepared localized info.xml files ourselves using alternate approach and need just a test if the translations were done properly. The NBMs can be tested as manually downloaded in NB IDE 5.5.1 installation with C/C++ Pack installed. NetBeans IDE 5.5.1 can be downloaded from http://www.netbeans.info/downloads/all.php?b_id=3095&src=1 Netbeans C/C++ Pack 5.5.1 Update 1 can be downloaded from http://www.netbeans.info/downloads/all.php?b_id=3242&src=1 SunStudio 12 can be downloaded from http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/downloads/ ZIP archive with NBMs with localized info.xml files has been attached to issue 155119 and can be downloaded from http://www.netbeans.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/74795/nb551p4_nbms.zip ZIP archive with translated info.xml files also has been attached to issue 115119 and can be downloaded from http://www.netbeans.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/74796/nb551p4_infoxml_t9n.zip You can consider also testing staging Update Center of Sun Studio 12. See http://wiki.netbeans.org/FaqStagingUpdateCenter , section "How to change Update Center URL in NetBeans 5.*" for information what to do in Sun Studio 12. If you would like to run test against staging center (see issue 115119 for staging status), you will have to run SS12 IDE in appropriate locale (i.e. by using '-locale ja' option). Thanks, -R10a
Thank you Rudolf, > http://www.netbeans.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/74795/nb551p4_nbms.zip I checked these nbms quickly and these looks fine for me. > You can consider also testing staging Update Center of Sun Studio 12. See Btw, does this mean these nbms are already staged? Keiichi, Will, could you try the studio 12 update center?
Keiichio & Masaki, yes, the NBMs were staged on ja+zh_CN Update Centers of SunStudio 12. The staging is tracked in issue 155119 (not 115119 as mentioned in original comment). Thanks, -R10a
Hi Rudolf and Masaki, Would you give me a little more information for testing? I've tested in Sun Studio 12 (Chinese and Japanese locales), and the module descriptions are displayed in English. Please see attached screen shot. Is it expected to display localized module description? The UC url are: http://www.netbeans.org/updates/sunstudio/sunstudio12/ja/catalog.xml?unique={$netbeans.hash.code} http://www.netbeans.org/updates/sunstudio/sunstudio12/zh_CN/catalog.xml?unique={$netbeans.hash.code}
Created attachment 74844 [details] Screen shot when downloading patch4 in Sun Studio (ja)
Hi Keiichio, this is expected behavior for live (production) Update Center. I would like to move your attention to staging Update Center. For staging Update Center you have to update the URL. Just put "test" between "http://" and "www" in UC URL. See http://wiki.netbeans.org/FaqStagingUpdateCenter , section "How to change Update Center URL in NetBeans 5.*" for more details. SunStudio 12 was built on top of NetBeans 5.5.1, thus section about NB 5.* is in charge here. I hope this helps, -R10a
Keiichio, one more note. The translation check/test is related only to those two updates under "Patch4" folder. The DTrace plugin will stay in English-only.
Thank you very much for your clarificaiton. And, sorry that I should read carefully your first comment (you wrote down same topics in the first comment). I tested testwww server, and I confirmed Japanese module description is displayed correctly. However, Chinese description is displayed in English. I also checked catalog.xml: http://testwww.netbeans.org/updates/sunstudio/sunstudio12/ja/catalog.xml http://testwww.netbeans.org/updates/sunstudio/sunstudio12/zh_CN/catalog.xml ja/catalog.xml contains Japanese description, but zh_CN/catalog.xml contains Chinese description. I'm guessing the IDE in zh_CN locale displays English description because of this. What do you think? Thank you. Keiichi
obsoleted.
