The properties window does not change to the properties of items dragged from the palette if the design area does not have focus. To reproduce have a new activity diagram opened and have IDE focus on another pane/window such as the projects window. Now drag and drop an item from the palette such as an invocation onto the design area. The properties window still shows the properties for the activity diagram and not the invocation. Work around is to change focus to design area bu clicking in it prior to adding items from the palette.
