Programming in Ruby under Netbeans for the first time I am unable to write special characters easily using "Alt Gr" as
required by my Swedish keyboard. E.g. [Alt Gr] + [7] = "{"

I am running Netbeans 6.1 under Ubuntu Linux 8.10. Writing these characters works well in Eclipse.

this is general java issue. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/netbeans/+bug/212364 there is guide how to get
it work.
I'm sorry we cannot solve this on Netbeans side.
