I downloaded and installed NetBeans 6.1 for Windows XP, with English language. After sometime, NetBeans signaled me that package updates were available. I clicked the package update button, and many packages were shown to be updated. I clicked ok for all packages. After the update, parts of my NetBeans became written in Portuguese, and not in English as it was before the update. I never was asked of what language I prefer, and the original language of NetBeans was English, so I assumed that upgrade packages should be English as well. My Win XP is in English, my preferences are to English. So, there's not in my computer that would suggest to use non-English language for the packages. I suspect that there's an "automatic package language feature" based on user's ip. I live in Brazil, and use IP's assigned to Brazil. If my suspicion is correct, than I strongly recommend to cancel this "automatic package language feature". This is not helping anyone, but by contrary is an annoyance. If the user selected his/her favorite language in the first place, there's no point in defining it again. Solution: Just get the NetBeans's original language of installation, and force the language of the package updates to be the same one.
