1) Starting with IDE window maximized, menu options and mouse pointer don't work fine when window is changed to not-maximized. a) With normal window (not maximized), try to select menu File, option Open or some other. The menu list disapear as soon as mouse button is released. It occurs in every menu. b) Still with normal window, try to select some menu, such as Window, and when select some option like Versioning... 2) Now close the IDE in normal window mode and then start it again. The opposite behaviour of item 1 (above) is happening when the IDE window is maximized.

could specify "misbehavior", please? What is your OS, JDK, NB build?
reporter didn't provided required information for more than 14 days. I'm closing this issue as worksforme as we are not able to reproduce it with the available information. Please, feel free to reopen when you face the problem again but attach the additional info. thank you for report
Answering what was asked ("What is your OS, JDK, NB build?"): NetBeans IDE 6.5: (Build 200811100001) Java: 1.5.0_14; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.5.0_14-b03 OS: Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-686-bigmem #1 SMP Tue Dec 2 08:50:08 UTC 2008, runing on i686 processor. Locale: UTF-8; pt_BR (nb) With misbehaviour I mean mouse and menu not functioning as expected. In other words, mouse pointer, mouse click on menus and menu-options. To simulate: Start NB IDE and maximize the IDE window (not full screen). Close NB. Restart NB. Change window size from maximized to not maximized (normal window - eg: if your screen is 1024x768, change manually to some size bellow, like 800x600). Now try to point to any menu and you will see what is happening (described on oppening issue text). With the inverse operation it is the same.
I'm not able to reproduce on WinXp. Will try later on Ubuntu.
I think I have the same problem with Netbeans 7.2 on Linux Mint, with a multi-monitor setup (which should be quite common for developers). You can see the bug in the second half of this video (the first part cover sth different): http://enventory.chemie.uni-kl.de/inventar/intern/netbeans_bugs.ogv
