Description Petr Pisl 2008-10-14 12:38:34 UTC
It would be useful to provide a FTP explorere, where user can browse an remote filesystem. It's userful for ftp, that
user can delete non needed folders and files.

From issue #146982:
There should be a functionality to allow delete files and folders on the remote server. The remote file system will be
great. Probably like here http://hlavki.blogspot.com/2008/09/i-am-netbeans-fan-so-what.html

I would also like this feature to be added as otherwise selective file downloading is a tedious process

I keep on jumping back to either aptana studio or zend studio because I can't modify files on the fly. I do agree with the author to have the project on your local machine before you could modify it. But at the same time, this should not be strictly enforced to restrict you from working remotely.

There are projects which we have to be downloaded completely but there are times when you don't need full power of code completion and you don't want indexing done. All you need to do is just a small tweak or a config change. But currently, we just have 2 options if this needs to be done, either download whole project on your local machine or use some other editor. Now the only problem is, when I want to settle with Netbeans, I don't want to use other IDE's just for this small task.

I hope I am making this point clear, programmers are not kids who needs to be kept behind some sort of parental control.... currently default installation does not even allow to browse local folder which really is a shame when you talk about Netbeans
