Note: This issue was created as copy of bug #8147 filed on vcscvs module. ===== Description: Opened: 2000-11-02 03:28 PST Discovered in: CE/IE Build #1136 on Windows 2000, RedHat Linux 6.2, Solaris 5.8 ============== (all with JDK 1.3) Description: ============ Some novice CVS users would by my opinion appreciate if there would be menu item like "Add and Commit" in the popup menu accessible on files. This would solve some misunderstanding of "Add" command because if you want to add the file into the repository you must do this in fact as sequence of two commands "Add" and "Commit". I know that this would raise CVS menu that is even now pretty large. So I suggest following: create new sub menu called "Commit" that would contain menu items "Add", "Commit" and "Add and Commit". This would in addition reduce CVS popup menu. Something similar could be made as well with "Import" and "Checkout" commands accessible on folders. ------- Additional Comments From Daniel Mladek 2000-11-02 12:15 PST ------- will be implemented when all menus will be possible to configurate and customize Priority is chaged to P5 (enhancement) ------- Additional Comments From Jiri Kovalsky 2000-12-08 08:23 PST ------- Changing version from FFJ 2.0 which is not already appropriate to 3.1 for possible integration this into next release.
I know that we have CVS popup menu too long now. I also know that files are added into CVS only once if everything goes well. Therefore I propose to change this enhancement slightly. What about adding "Sch- edule for Commit" checkbox in input dialog of "Add" command that if checked (default value) would call "Commit" after "Add" finishes succ- essfully. I know that it depends on implementation of issue #14590. Please consider it once again. Thanks :-)
Target milestone -> 3.3.1.
UI keyword added.
Nobody else did it so I persuaded me to do it myself ... :-) I hope also Daniel will be satisfied ... Fixed in development build of NetBeans 3.4 #200205170100.
GREAT, Jiri!!!! I'm only curious about if tomorrow build could be build because of this such 'huge' change in the code;-))))
I think it works quite fine. Good job Jiri ! :-) Verified in development build #200206040100 of NetBeans 3.4.
YEAH, Great Jiri!!! U're a prodigy, aren't U?;-)
