Description thigsmith 2008-09-03 10:57:08 UTC
I am using Vista Ultimate 64 on an HP dv9700 with a MS Bluetooth mouse. When I am in the source code window the mouse
wheel only scrolls downward regardless of the wheel spin direction.

Hi thigsmith,
thank you for your report, but could you please provide more informations? At least info from Help > About dialog in
NetBeans. Does this issue occurs only in Netbeans? Did you try another java application? Do you use special drivers for
your BT mouse? Does it occur with other mice? Thanks in advance.

Here is the about information

Product Version: NetBeans IDE 6.1 (Build 200804211638)
Java: 1.5.0_15; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.5.0_15-b04
System: Windows Vista version 6.0 running on x86; Cp1252; en_US (nb)
Userdir: C:\Users\harry\.netbeans\6.1

The device manager under Bluetooth has the HP integrated Module with Blooth 2.0 Wireless technology and
the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator. The mouse driver is MS Wireless Laser Mouse 8000(IntelliPoint)

When I plug in a standard USB Mouse the problem does not occur. I have not seen this behavior on any web page etc. I am
looking around for a pure download to see.

Thank you for additional info, last question is if this is problem which occurs only in source code editor or if this is
problem of the whole IDE. I mean that you cannot fully scroll in project window, output window and so on ...

I am a new Netbeans user but have a same issue in versions 6.5 beta and 6.5 release candidate (PHP edition)

My info from about:
Product Version: NetBeans IDE 6.5 RC1 (Build 200810171318)
Java: 1.5.0_16; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.5.0_16-b02
System: Windows Vista version 6.0 running on x86; Cp1251; uk_UA (nb)
Userdir: C:\Users\andrey\.netbeans\6.5rc1

Reassigning to core for evaluation.
Comment 6 Lukas Hasik 2008-11-19 11:13:25 UTC
looks more as problem with the mouse driver. Could you try any other Java application? For example Swing Demo? And try
if the mouse wheel works correctly.
Thank you.

reporter didn't provided required information for more than 14 days. I'm closing this issue as worksforme as we are not
able to reproduce it with the available information.
Please, feel free to reopen when you face the problem again but attach the additional info.

thank you for report

Hi lhasik,

I have a similar issue with NB 6.5. Rolling the wheel slowly does not scroll at all (on the whole IDE). I've verified
that the scrolling worked fine with Swing Demo. Changing the wheel scroll speed does not help.

Product Version: NetBeans IDE 6.5 (Build 200811100001)
Java: 1.6.0_06; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 10.0-b22
System: Windows Vista version 6.0 running on x86; Cp1252; en_US (nb)
Userdir: C:\Users\roberttran\.netbeans\6.5

This is the mouse info:
Microsoft USB Dual Receiver Wireless Mouse 6000 (IntelliPoint)
Driver Version: 6.31.230.0
Driver Date: 11/26/2008

This happens on my laptop where the laptop touchpad does not have the problem. I suspect that it is the wireless mouse
driver compatibility with Netbeans. The mouse works with all the other applications.

Could you have a look? Much appreciated.

Robert.

I'm not working on winsys anymore, reassigning. However i don't think we (netbeans) can do anything with this, as it
seems to be lower level problem which we can't affect.
