We should be able to (somehow) viewer visual representations of unicode characters being used in the code. For example,
say I have:

System.out.println("\u0320 This is a test!");

I should be able to move my mouse over the String and see a visual representation or something similar.

Please also see issue #24688 where this RFE originated. The issue #24688 describes two problems - at the beginning this
RFE, but then the discussion turned towards char-to-byte and byte-to-char conversions done between a console application
launched from Netbeans and the output window. This issue was filed to separate those two unrelated problems and allow
solving them independently.

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.
