Java: 1.5.0_15; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 1.5.0_15-b04
System: Linux version 2.6.24-19-generic running on amd64; UTF-8; en_US (nb)

ruby 1.8.6 (2007-09-24 patchlevel 111) [x86_64-linux]

Steps:
1. open the gem manager for MRI
2. update any gem
3. click 'cancel' in the opened su dialog => the gem dialog tells me that "Update Succeeded"

Are you still able reproduce. I've tried with JRuby and MRI and I'm not. Please reopen if you can.

Ah, sorry. I've missed *su*  word. I meant 'Cancel' on the installation dialog does this. This is because underlaying
'su' behavior which returns exit code 0 on 'Cancel'. Not plan to enhance this. I guess this is not problem for the user
almost at all.

Well, in general saying that something was successfully done when it wasn't *is* a problem.
