When you run Netbeans with java 1.6 update 10, the font rendering used is not the Java one but the native Cleartype on Windows. The font quality is just far better (my opinion). This works very well with Netbeans 6.1, but not with Netbeans 6.5M1. I have attached screenshots that show this issue. You can see it in particular with bold or italic fonts and "w" rendering.

After further investigation, it seems that it is only the editor that is affected by the issue. Look at the other labels in menus, panels, dialogs. Everywhere it is beautifully rendered, but the editor...
