Description billyjolam 2008-05-04 03:37:54 UTC
I was installed Netbeans 6.0.1 and it was worked fine. Tried to install Netbean 6.1 but failed the first time with
the unpack200 problem. Stopped the "Process Monitor" and installed again, everything was smooth and installation was
successful. Got "Application failed to Initialize properly (0xc000007b). Click OK to terminate the application" Error
when I tried to run. After that the Netbeans 6.0.1 didn't work too and I got the same error. Tried un-installed and
installed everything (even Netbeans 6.0.1) keep getting "Application failed to Initialize properly (0xc000007b). Click
OK to terminate the application" Error. Anyone can help !!

When did you get this error?
What steps have you done to archive this?
What application produced that error?

> Click OK to terminate the application" Error when I tried to run.
> After that the Netbeans 6.0.1 didn't work too and I got the same error.
Could you please make the screenshot of this error and attach it to the issue?

> Tried un-installed and installed everything (even Netbeans 6.0.1) keep getting "Application failed to Initialize
properly (0xc000007b).
> Click OK to terminate the application" Error.

Do you have Windows XP SP2 installed? Do you have latest updates installed?

Thanks,
Dmitry

Could you please also check you system for viruses? After googling around for this message I ran into assuption that it
can be the result of the virus on the system.

Hi,

Here are the required info. :

>When did you get this error?
The error happened immediately after I double click on the "Netbeans 6.1" short cut on the desktop. Same error when I
tried to run directly on the "netbeans.exe"

>What steps have you done to archive this?
Not very sure about the question ? I tried to look into the System Logs and can’t find anything.

>What application produced that error?
I believe it's the "netbeans.exe".

>Could you please make the screenshot of this error and attach it to the issue?
See attachment ...

>Do you have Windows XP SP2 installed? Do you have latest updates installed?
Yes, it’s WinXP SP2 with the latest updates.

>Could you please also check you system for viruses? After googling around for this message I ran into assumption that
it can be the result of the virus on the system.
I also found from Google that people said it may be a viruses. I did the following scan but found nothing :
1)	Ad-Aware SE
2)	Norton Security Scan
3)	Symantec Endpoint Protection
But so far only the “netbeans.exe” has problem. Not happened on any other application !

Any Clue ?

Thx
Billy

Billy,

Thanks for the answers.

What JDK have you selected during installation? what does "<path-to-jdk>/bin/java.exe -version" says?
does any UI (NetBeans splash screen) appear or you got the error emmidiately after clicking the netbeans shortcut?

could you please also attach the output of "set" command (you can run it from cmd: set > output.txt) ?
If there is some sensitive data (passwords, etc) there feel free to hide it with asterisks.

Does it help if you run netbeans with a different user dir?
http://wiki.netbeans.org/FaqAlternateUserdir

Passing the ball back to IDE since the installation went fine.
