1. Start IDE. 2. Start GlassFish. Message that server is started appears. 3. Rightclick "Databases > Java DB" node and choose "Stop Server". Result: In Output window message that server is stopped doesn't appear. It happens sometimes. Sometimes this message appears. I tried with Windows XP. If message doesn't appear, rightclick "Databases > Java DB" node and "Stop Server" popup menu item, is disabled.
Not reproducible for me on Linux. David, are you able to reproduce?
I reproduced this with: Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 080425) Java: 1.6.0_05; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 10.0-b19 System: Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86; Cp1251; ru_RU (nb) Probably this is Windows issue.
David, so did you manage to reproduce this?
I assumed since Roman could reproduce it you had confirmation it was still a bug. But I'll check it out.
I can't reproduce on Mac. Let me try in my Windows XP virtual machine.
I can't reproduce on Windows either. Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 080428) Java: 1.6.0_05; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 10.0-b19 System: Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86; Cp1252; en_US (nb)
I can't reproduce it anymore too. I saw this issue many times before. Probably it was fixed. So I'll mark this issue as FIXED, but will reopen it if I'm able to reproduce it again. Probably this issue occurs only when machine is loaded by many processes.
Verified with build 080428.
As soon as I've closed the issue, it occurs again. I added MySQL connection, started Java DB server, then do "View Data" on Java DB table and on MySQL table. After that I disconnected from DBs and stopped Java DB. Result on screenshot in attach.
Created attachment 60815 [details] Screenshot.
It looks like the server is actually stopped - is that correct? Or is the server *not* stopped? If it's stopped and there is just no output to the window, I believe this is really not that big of an issue, maybe even a P4. If it isn't stopped then that's a very different situation.
Java DB is stopped, but absence of message can mislead customers. But I agree that this isn't serious issue.
downgrading based on comments
NB6.7 was released already - http://www.netbeans.org/community/releases/67/ Postpone fixing this issue on the next release.
Reassigned to new owner.
AFAIK it's works correctly in recent builds of IDE.
