Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 200803311211) Java: 1.6.0_10-beta; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 11.0-b11 System: Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86; Cp1252; en_US (nb) There is no difference if Tools | Options - Miscellaneous - Diff - "Ignore Whitespace" checkbox is checked or not. When I add some new space to a line (e.g in the middle of comment), this space is marked as "new" (green background) and the line as "modified" (blue background) even if "Ignore Whitespace" was checked and saved before.
Only leading and trailing whitespaces are ignored. It may be confusing so we will change the option text to "Ignore leading/trailing whitespace".
OK, I am changing this issue to "Enhancement".
