Description jjjjjj 2008-03-28 21:47:09 UTC
Unable to build LEFT/RIGHT/OUTER etc.. JOINS - lots of various issues... this control needs a lot of work still.

It sometimes becomes exceptionally slow when picking and unpicking column display status.
No real way to order columns - you're forced to tick it in the sequence you want to see it in order to get the sequence
right.

Exceptionally hard and tedious to work with in general.

Are you talking about the Visual Editor? I assume so since you're talking about picking and unpicking columns. The
ordering issue are known.

I have to agree with you, actually. The problem is, given our limited resources, and the fact that our regular SQL
editor also needs work, we likely won't be able to spend time with this. Most people want to write SQL in a standard
SQL editor rather than bother with a visual editor. We are actually discussing removing the Visual SQL Editor because
we just can't put the resources into it to make it the level of quality it should be.

I'm making this a feature request. Feel free to vote for it if you think it's important, and encourage others to do so.
Meanwhile, our priority is on improving the non-visual SQL Editor, which also can get some real improvement.

The Visual Editor is a great asset to the IDE especially if it can handle cross database SQL; I know that writing a
Visual Editor for SQL is no easy task; so avoiding it for now and just using the SQL Editor.

Thanks.
