The dialogs displayed by the IDE at a small resolution (800x600) don't use the whole screen. For example, the project properties window for a C++ project keeps some "borders" of maybe 100px top/bottom and 50px left/right. Of course, as the actual component is bigger some scroll bars do show up and I'm able to use the screen. But if I manually resize the dialog, the scroll bars go away (and the dialog is almost like a maximized window now). Basically the dialog size computation seems to be too conservative. OS: Linux x86 / Ubuntu 8.04 Java 1.6 (Sun), NetBeans 6.0.1
passing to projects, please reassign if I'm wrong. (note: "properties window for a C++ project") in reporter's info.
I'm sorry, but minimal resolution needed for NetBeans IDE is 1024x768, see: http://www.netbeans.org/community/releases/60/relnotes.html#system_requirements
