Description junkfood 2008-03-23 17:45:00 UTC
Under linux Ubuntu 7.10 Family the key AltGr seems dead under Netbeans.
My key seems to work perfectly well under other text editor but somehow just under Netbeans 6.0, I can't use it so I
can't type these keys requiring the AltGr key pressed: ~#{[|`\^@]}ยค
My keyboard layout is a french keyboard and I have SCIM to switch keyboard between other languages such as japanese.
This isn't really helpful if I want to create arrays[] under Java....

Could you please verify behavior in other java-based text editors, ie. jEdit (http://www.jedit.org/)? Thanks. A snapshot of you xorg.conf configuration
regarding your keyboard setup would be also helpful.

AltGR seems to work fine in my setup (Ubuntu 7.10 with the czech keyboard layout). What shortcuts profile are you using?
As Max suggested could you please try the same with for example java notepad - 'java -jar
${JAVA_HOME}/demo/jfc/Notepad/Notepad.jar'. Also, please copy-paste here the info from the bottom of the Help -> About
dialog box or attach your Netbeans log file (ie. <userdir>/var/log/messages.log). Thanks a lot

Works for me too.

Junkfood, feel free to reopen if you are still experiencing this problem and please add some additional info that could
help to solve the problem (see msauer's and vstejskal's questions).

Thank you
