Ubuntu Hardy, Iced 7 b24, NB 6.0.1 installed from Ubuntu packages
NetBeans gets installed from repository and it uses IcedTea 7 (now) b24. 
1. 1st is successful. IDE launches, welcome screen is OK. Do nothing.
2. close the IDE.
3. Start NB for 2nd time. I can see IDE is started, welcome screen appears then IDE closes and hs_eer.log file is
generated to my home.

If you remove userdir then you can start NetBeans again and get to step 1.

the problem is being tracked as http://icedtea.classpath.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=98 on IcedTea
It has been fixed already - we should verify when the jdk with the fix is available

closing as NOT-OUR-BUG (we need this resolution)
