The Overview Window is very helpful, but not easy to discover for new users. The Reverse Engineering tutorial tells the reader to click the Overview Window button, but I searched a long time before finding it. In NetBeans I expect pop up contextual menus to give access to whatever is useful in any context. Adding Overview Window to the Class Diagram pop up menu will make it easy to find, and easy to accidentally discover. Better yet, add a submenu, something like "Viewing Tools" to the pop up menu. Populate the new submenu with Overview Window and other display toolbar buttons that are not already available in a menu.
Currently the overview is shown via the editors toolbar. Currently we are in the process of redesigning our drawing area control. Our goal is to move the Overview window to NetBeans navigator, so that it is always present, unless of course you have closed the navigator window. In which case you simply use the standard menu to open the navigator window. I also was wondering why the editor toolbar was hard for you to locate?
