Product Version: NetBeans IDE 6.0 (Build 200711261600) Java: 1.6.0_03-ea; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.6.0_03-ea-b01 Java: 1.5.0_12; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.5.0_12-b03 System: Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86; Cp1250; cs_CZ (nb) Anti-aliasing does not work on Win XP + jdk1.6. The font is never anti-aliased although the checkbox is on. In 5.5 it works fine even with the same JDK. When using JDK 1.5 it works in both versions.
Weird, see issue #89003 and issue #117369. Btw, why are you using early access version of JDK? I thought 1.6.0_03 has already been released. At least it's offered on java.sun.com and some time ago I downlaoded and installed 1.6.0_03-b05. Could you please re-try with the latest version?
It's reproducible with 1.6.0_03fcs (and later versions) as well. I'm aware about the other issues, but they are all about impossibility to turn AA off. This is the opposite case, but maybe the root of is the same.

Is this issue still valid? I was using Windows XP with JDK 6 and I never had such problem.
We should probably recheck with jdk6u10 RC. Also, there is no checkbox to control anti-aliasing from inside the IDE now.
I think that in the light of issue #137845 we can close this as fixed.
