Steps to reproduce.
STEP1: Create an IEP process , Create a COMP APP 

STEP2: Add IEP module to COMP APP , build deploy. The project will work fine.
Create a BPEL module using output port defined in IEP , add BPEL process into COMP APP. Edit CASA editor to make sure
IEP output is linked to BPEL process and not file binding. Build deploy . The project works fine.

Now go back to CASA editor and delete the link between IEP and BPEL and link IEP output back to FILE as it was in the
STEP1 , build deploy. The project does not work as expected, i.e output file is not getting generated .
