[ BUILD # : 200710221200 ] [ JDK VERSION : 1.6.0_02 ] After editing a source file for a while, the error stripe fill up with bars for every new, deleted and edited line which make all other indicators difficult to see and to hit with the mouse. Not having an option to switch these indicators off makes the error stripe almost unusable after a while.
I propose 2 possibilities: 1. Put a means of accessing a filter on the error bar itself, maybe accessed by clicking the status square at the top. 2. Putting new options in the options dialog.
If each "Errostripe MarkProvider" could have a display name, there would be a possibility to turn them on/off centrally in the editor.
Any input on this from UI people? Thanks
This probably deserves an option. Both solutions proposed by dynamite sound good to me. We can also consider a simple right click in the error stripe for accessing the options. Before we proceed with implementation we need a UI spec as usual to check it would really work as expected. ;-)
