[Not sure if this belongs in another section than openide] Hello, this option actually exists (per Jesse Glick), but must be set from the command line. Can you please make it an option in one of the various options windows? > One quick question: I only ever use one workspace (and in fact have deleted > all the rest), as I don't use NetBeans for debugging or running (I'm > reliant on scaffolding usually). How can I remove the workspaces tab bar > (with only one tab) so it doesn't take up 30 pixels of screen real estate? Try running with -J-Dnetbeans.windows.small_main_window=true. It is not a supported option, but it works as far as I know.
I would be good to have such that option that hide workspaces.
In fact netbeans.windows.small_main_window is more drastic: it removes not only workspace tabs, but whole toolbar area, and moves status line into menu area. Probably not to everyone's tastes. Most people just ask to get rid of the workspace bar.
For what it's worth, when I suggested this, I had already disabled all the tool bars. I did not notice the moved status line, but no complaints. Either way, it's an option which seems useful, and if it can be easily moved into an options screen (even if few people use it?) why not?
