Description vanob 2007-10-10 15:02:03 UTC
[ JDK VERSION : 1.6.0_02 ]

http://bits.netbeans.org/download/6.0/nightly/200710100000/

I would be happy to have another choice of a package to download,
that is the first choice (that is Web & Java EE) but without
runtimes.
I don't use Tomcat so I'm wasting my bandwidth downloading it. When I
first downloaded that build I've installed glassfish to some location
but for the consequent turns it does not allow me to install
glassfish to some different location (it says that glassfish is
already installed). I would not mind registering glassfish at the
later time inside the IDE. So I'm downloading glassfish and tomcat
runtimes everyday and wasting my bandwidth, moreover it takes an hour
and a half to download the build. For the release it's normal to have
the first choice but for testing it's really time consuming not to
have the stripped down version of the first choice. I know I can
download only Java SE (third choice) and via update manager add web
and java ee functionality but that is also time consuming to do that
everyday. I hope things will change.

Adding Jano Rojcek (our xDesign expert) to CC: list in order to possibly get his opinion on this enhancement.

Still waiting for this. IMO this should be a P2 at least because most people don't have bandwidth to throw away.

There is always a option to choose "OS Independent Zip" which are without app servers.

...and also without the OS X installer, OS X file system event hooks, etc.

Same as bug #271039. Please mark one or the other as a duplicate.

Bundling GlassFish makes even less sense these days, since NetBeans already prompts you to download GlassFish if it's needed and not present.
