Description Martin Ryzl 2007-09-03 09:38:54 UTC
When installing Mobility distribution, CDDL license is there three times. Apparently licenses all distros are
concatenated and displayed. It doesn't look professsional.
Comment 1 dlipin 2007-09-03 10:00:38 UTC
Martin, the issue is that we have a different set of components with different licenses in different bundles.
There was an agreement with Legal that we concatinate all the components licenses one by one to create one overall
license.

Martin,

I want to say that we don`t have another valid (and approved by Legal) solution for the problem yet.
Legal is OK with the current implementation and hasn`t provide us with an alternative.

Adding Jano to CC list.
Making the issue to be an enhancement.

From usability standpoint, each license text should be displayed exactly once. But I don't know legal constrains how we can display licenses. Can we do
something like:

---
NetBeans IDE, GlassFish, etc.:

<CDDL license text>

Tomcat:

<Tomcat license>

Antlr:

<Antlr license>

...etc.
---

For NetBeans 6.0 Beta2 we have one global license.
