Description Ken Frank 2007-08-16 17:36:21 UTC
this could be umbrella issue for i18n things related to mac installer - please file separate issues
as needed.

this could be things like
messages from bundle files (or equivalent kind of text files that can be easily translated)
needing those msgs in installer l10n kit
ui for allowing choice of which locale to install and installing just that one (as per in progress implementation of
langpack
getting from BE an equivalent zip kind of file of localized files for each locale, and incorporating it into
the mac installer

(let me know if issue needed for BE to build localized file for mac if will be different than the zip that will
be provided)

nothing in common with nbi.
Comment 2 Ken Frank 2007-11-04 17:50:42 UTC
this is not an umbrella issue; I just used that word in orignal filing.

here is mail on this between Ivan and myself; I think he is the assigned
engineer on this.

Ivan,

Thanks for the info. My questions/comments are below ...

they usually wont be unless the words might look descriptive,
but we can state #NOI18N for those lines

not for nb but others on this please correct me if I am mistaken.

message it should be translated.

where does this std msg come from ? is it from mac itself ?

content to repository and I will just copy it to right place during creation of ML builds.

does it mean that you can use existing nbi installer msgs and get them
from l10n putback to translatedfiles, just as nbi installer is doing now ?

and thus that no separate kit is needed ?

(and if some welcome msg is needed to be xlated, it could go into
kit as some special file and be xlated and putback - but not as a text
file since some encoding problems since 3 ja/zh sub locales each with
separate encoding so lets use bundle or html in which utf8 enc tag
can be used.

Comment 3 Ivan Sidorkin 2007-11-15 18:22:36 UTC
we have nothing to translate in release60

Comment 4 dlipin 2007-12-10 17:44:12 UTC
Ivan,

could you please add (port from trunk) the infrastructure required for ML builds into release60 branch?
This is required for upcoming ML release of 6.0 (most probably 6.0.1).

Thanks,
Dmitry
Comment 5 dlipin 2007-12-18 11:09:25 UTC
thanks to Ivan! finally we have 6.0.1 ML build of native mac installer.
Comment 6 Ken Frank 2007-12-18 17:06:18 UTC
is there anything different in this from 2-3 weeks ago, when
the first mac dmg ml installers were built ?

at that time I used it and it looked ok, and also translation
team used it also; so it can be verified based on that.

But if something new or changed has happened since then, it needs
to be reverified.

Ken,

2 weeks ago we have only trunk installers, not we have installers from release60 branch (actual 6.0.1 build).

Ivan please correct me if I am wrong: the only difference between EN and ML build of mac installer in release60 branch
is the NetBeans itself - in ML it contains additional localized jars.

All the rest is identical (installer UI, licenses, glassfish, openesb, tomcat, etc).
