Description rost 2007-08-06 11:22:12 UTC
After switching a project to another Java platform in the project properties there appeared an indeterministic
progress bar at the lower right edge of the NetBeans window with the text prefix "Indexing /.../rt.jar". When I moved
the mouse cursor over this progress bar it showed a tooltip "1 task running. Click for details." So I clicked the
progress bar and got a popup that presented me the same thing again, an indeterministic progress bar with the same
prefix text. This semantic shortcoming alone would be worth a bug report but the worst thing is technical: this
NetBeans popup window stays on top of other applications when switching away from NetBeans!

I tested with NetBeans-6.0beta1 and the bug is still there.

what JDK? what OS? (if using linux, please state the window manager as well)

The progress bar can hold information about multiple running processes at once. In that case just one is shown in the
status bar and the rest is accessible from the popup window. Additionally the tasks optionally can add more detailed
information about current processing..

> what JDK?
java version "1.6.0_03"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_03-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.6.0_03-b05, mixed mode, sharing)

> what OS?
As stated in the bug report "OS" field, it is Linux.

> if using linux, please state the window manager as well
