Description Petr Chytil 2007-07-16 16:57:45 UTC
Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 200707160000)
Java: 1.6.0_02; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.6.0_02-b05
System: Linux version 2.6.20-16-generic running on i386; UTF-8; en_US (nb)
Userdir: /home/petr/.netbeans/dev-a11y

Selected item in tree view has only one state - selected. So focus is lost (moved to scrollbar) when you press tab (e.g.
after selecting Projects window). That's confusing when no scrollbar is present (few files in opened project) and you
try to traverse using cursor keys (and nothing happens because you've pressed tab).
Metal or XP/Vista themes have different visualization of selected item, when focus is on another component. So only in
GTK can be user little confused.

What theme do you have? And what version of Linux?

I *can* see the difference between focused and non-focused item in Projects view with Ubuntu 6.10 and Clearlooks theme.

See the following two attachments.

You're right. Most of Ubuntu themes are OK (I've tried Clearlooks and many others).

Now, I have Ubuntu 7.04 with default (Human) theme. So it's a pity that Ubuntu *default* theme is the problem.
Comment 5 Petr Nejedly 2007-07-23 15:43:04 UTC
Yes, it is a pity, but we can't do much about it. We're not going to override the theme on our will.
