There is plenty of issue caused by JSPParserAPI.getPageInfo() returning null under some circumstances. It is not clear to me what is the desired behaviour of the method. Javadoc doesn't say anything about the possibility of returning null so I am not sure if it signals a bug in the parser or something else (jsp out of webmodule etc..). Please clarify and update the javadoc if necessary. Currently there are various ways of dealing with ${subj}: 1) test for null first and silently ignore 2) throw an informational exception if null returned 3) raw NPE This needs to be consolidated somehow. Please address this issue ASAP, thanks.
Issue #92982 is also indirectly related.
The content of PageInfo is dependent on the jspparser success. There can be situation, when the parser is not able to parse a jsp page at all. For example, if there is a problem with web.xml.
This issue is not defect in a code. It's mainly about missing documentation. Changing to task.
