the LH diff doesn't have any contents in the right pane and there are no new revisions created after file change and
save. see also issue #85257.

closing. this problem was caused by the fix for #85257. The issue was reopened and the relevant fix rolled back.

this problem was caused by the fix for #105884 (the one i actually reopened and rolled back) not #85257 as i mentioned
in the post above. my fault.
