"Edit > Find in files" is greyed out, as is "Edit > Replace in files." I tried a "find in files" command for text I knew was there, and it wasn't found. Now both those options are greyed out. Seems like they should never be disabled.

Fixed, fix will appear in build #2500. The problem was that the search functionality has been split into separate modules, and the project-search-scope module was not included in the slim rubyide cluster. I think there's still something wrong. Hit cntrl-shift-F, search for "stuff". Choose 'open projects.' Hit OK. Search starts. Some results appear. 'searching...' still displayed. Impatience sets in sixty seconds later. This is a text search, how long can it take? Aptana, across the same files was done in < three seconds. It's been 60, and NetBeans is still searching. Hit Stop Searching. No effect. Hit it many more times. Still no effect. Thirty seconds later, search still looks like it's churning along.

FYI, came back four minutes later and the search had stopped.
Tried again on a more recent build on the same project, and I'm not seeing the problem. James, does the latest comment mean that we can close this issue as fixed?
Reassigning this issue to newly created 'ruby' component.
I'm going to close this bug, since it sounds like Find is working again (and being a P1 it's on a lot of people's radar as a blocking issue). If Find itself fails (as opposed to being disabled) that would be a separate issue anyway since the root cause of this bug was rubyide not containing a module providing projects search. Thanks for your report, keep 'em coming!
