Run installer. On Choose destination folder panel enter long path look like
C:\Program Files\NetBeans 6.0

Appears inchoate Warning message. See attached screenshot.

After installation completed I try to run NetBeans, but icon is corrupted and 
it can't access to <INST_DIR>/bin because Path is too long.

I've added the notion of the maximum length of path which will be displayed in the error message. This is not an
ultimate solution but it will facilitate the interpretation of the error.

The displayed message does not specify the maximum length of path. See attached screenshot.
Reopen issue.

lowering priority to P4 (very rear use case).

This bug was reported against NetBeans IDE 6.0 or an older release, or against a non-maintained module. NetBeans team does not have enough resources to get to this issue, therefore we are closing the issue as a WONTFIX.
