I see that a great deal of work in supporting persistence (Hibernate/TopKick) has already been put into the NetBeans IDE. It would be helpful if the persistence support could be extended all the way through the visual idiom so I could, say, set up a persistence mapping, associate it with a dataprovider and drop it onto a visual component.
Even though, there is no out of the box support for persistence, there is a reasonable support for visual binding in NB 6.0. See my blogs http://blogs.sun.com/winston/entry/netbeans_vwp_tip_binding_database http://blogs.sun.com/winston/entry/jpa_add_update_delete
