1. - started with a clean installation of NB 3.1 - ran it in the multi-user mode - mounted a local file system, opened a .java file, changed editor settings - exited NB 3.1 2. - unzipped NB dev-140 - ran it (multi-user mode default, userdir reused) - got zillion of exceptions and a couple of warnings (see the attached log) - in the Welcome screen, chose the MDI mode (more exceptions) - when it finally came up, no apparent problems observed (filesystem mounted, .java file open, editor settings preserved) - exited NB dev-140 3. - re-started NB dev-140 - thought it would be ok this time, but exception were thrown again (see log) Please analyze, assign and/or file new bugs if appropriate.

I had similar problems, but 'upgraded' from build 136 to 140. Clean NB install but using the user-dir from build 136. When starting NB it hangs on the 'Loading ant module' message in the splash. Iwan
Version: 'Dev' -> 3.2
I have filed a number of other bugs in the "depends on" list for this one, which should suffice to get them fixed, so I am closing this bug. I do not however (importing to dev-mar-13) get the CNFE on DebuggerNode (and associated NPE from elsewhere in debugger), nor the IOException's on nonpersistent Explorer nodes. If you can still reproduce, I suggest you file this separately as a debugger bug. Iwan, I suspect your hang was a side effect of loading an obsolete patch into a newer build, so ignoring that part. Also cannot assign without a thread dump.
