Description rpoon 2007-04-04 23:36:32 UTC
Build:

NetBeans build:
http://balui.sfbay.sun.com/kits/oriondev/hula/Build070403_15/zips/
ide-hula-070403_15.zip

SDK build:
SDK B10 System test build
http://javaweb.sfbay/java/re/javaeesdk/5.0_03/promoted/preview2/b10/bundles/
java_app_platform_sdk-5_03-preview2-bin-b10-windows-30_mar_2007.exe

========================================================
Encountered the following problems with Derby on two different installations on
two different machines:

Machine1 (Win-XP):
-----------------

After installing the NetBean and SDK build from scratch (Uninstall the existing
via Windows ‘Add/Remove Programs’ utility, and cleanup all related directory
and files under ‘Documents and Setting\Username’ directory if previously
installed the older build), do the following:

1)Start up the NetBeans IDE, notice that the default connection for Derby
database is already available (which uses the ‘DerbyClient.jar’ from the Java
JDK 1.6.0) – see attached ‘Default_Derby_Conn.jpg’ file.
Now, try to connect to Derby database with this default driver configuration –
Connect Successful.
2)Now disconnect the Derby connection above.
3)Start the Sun App Server (using the SDK build 10).
4)Retry Derby database connection.

Machine2 (Win-XP):
-----------------

Same steps as above but now encountered ‘Unable to read the database structure,
connection error’.
