Description tkellerer 2006-02-06 11:15:59 UTC
It seems that the development of the AspectJ plugin
(http://aspectj4netbean.sourceforge.net) has been stopped. It would be nice if
the plugin would work with NB 5.0
Comment 1 tkellerer 2006-02-08 13:44:00 UTC
Additionally it would be nice if NB would at least support the editing of
aspects. As they are Java files but their declaration is different to a java
class, the internal parser will report errors immediately.

If the parser would recognize a "public aspect MyAspect" that would already be
of great help

before AspectJ support is available you can use the annotation based development
style. For more Information see:

It would probably get more traction were it not already a project of another
community. The site referenced says this is part of the AspectJ Community. It
is also under another license than NB. So, it seems either something would have
to be worked out to obtain this code, or another entire complete project based
on AspectJ would have to be completed. IssueZilla is for NB only. Do you mean
to make a module "like" this for NB, and not what it appears to convey that NB
developers should work on this module?
Comment 4 tkellerer 2006-02-13 08:21:53 UTC
Using annotation based development is a good idea, but unfortunately this
requires Java 1.5 which we cannot use at the moment :(
Comment 5 Roman Strobl 2007-05-20 19:22:25 UTC
Ramon Ramos did some work on the AspectJ plug-in:
