Summary: Windows Explorer marks .java as Java(TM) file (NetBeans IDE)
Product: installer Reporter: Martin Balin <mbalin>
Component: CodeAssignee: Richard Gregor <rgregor>
Status: RESOLVED INVALID
Severity: blocker
Priority: P1

OS: Windows ME/2000
Issue Type: DEFECT Exception Reporter:

Description Martin Balin 2002-09-13 16:06:37 UTC
When NB 3.4 is installed to Windows machine and
.java association is created then following text
appears in Windows Explorer for each Java file:
Java(TM) file (NetBeans IDE). This is pretty ugly
and long, something like "Java Source" or "Java
file" is enough.
Comment 1 Richard Gregor 2002-09-17 07:35:16 UTC
At first glance it looks peculiar to use Windows Explorer on Sun
platform with SunOS.
Comment 2 Martin Balin 2002-09-17 08:06:44 UTC
Hope the change of OS helps you to fix this quickly.
Comment 3 Richard Gregor 2002-09-17 08:27:38 UTC
Thanks. I dont think it is problem of installer. There is standard way
how to show assciations in Windows Explorer and beacuse .java files
are associated with NetBeans IDE this information is correct. In
installer there is no explicitly defined string which is shown in
Windows Explorer.
