Description Jiri Kovalsky 2012-02-24 15:29:40 UTC
Product Version: NetBeans IDE 7.1.1 RC1 (Build 201202141941)
Java: 1.7.0_03; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 22.1-b02
System: Linux version 3.0.0-16-generic running on amd64; UTF-8; cs_CZ (nb)
User directory: /home/cesilko/.netbeans/7.1.1rc1
Cache directory: /home/cesilko/.netbeans/7.1.1rc1/var/cache

Description:
============
System help in NetBeans 7.1.1 is not context sensitive for the following project samples: Java EE, Maven, PHP, Groovy and all NetBeans Modules except FeedReader sample. Upon pressing "Next >" button in the "New Project" wizard Help
window gets opened but it does not display desired content user needs help with.

Steps to reproduce:
===================
1. Install full distribution of NetBeans IDE 7.1.1 RC build #201202141941.
2. Invoke "File > New Project..." from main menu.
3. Select for example "Maven" category.
4. Press "Next >" button and then "Help".
5. Help window will get opened but the content panel will show default "This
window contains the master set of all installed documentation..." message or
previously displayed help page.

Many of these should be fixed in recent builds:
Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201202240400)

For Maven projects, see #205785 and #205791

The following samples specifically still have help ids that should be removed

Web Services Samples:
REST: HelloWorld
REST: Customer Database
REST: Customer Database on Spring
REST: Message Board

Java EE Samples:
LeanServiceECBComponentWithAjax

Maven:
REST Sample Application

NetBeans Modules:
Paint App
Sample CRUD Application
Sample REST Application
Felix Based Platform Application
Equinox Based Platform Application

Ok, we will not address it into 7.1 (1/2), target 7.2 rather.
Comment 3 AlyonaStashkova 2012-03-02 14:43:39 UTC
Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201202280400)
Java: 1.7.0_03; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 22.1-b02
System: Windows 7 version 6.1 running on x86; Cp1252; ru_RU (nb)

Help buttons for mobility projects (e.g., File > New Project > Java ME > Mobile Application) and mobility samples (e.g., File > New Project > Samples > Java ME > Visual Designer Custom Components (MIDP)) are active: display the Java Card specific *Create a project* topic.
Comment 4 Kenneth Ganfield 2012-06-11 18:11:15 UTC
Just an update that the sample projects for the following categories still have active help buttons that should be disabled.

Java ME
Groovy
C/C++
NetBeans Modules
