Using NB 7.1 RC2 Connecting to a PKI protected JIRA server gives the error Received fatal alert: handshake_failure Attempting to log in to https://java.net/jira gives an incorrect "Invalid Username or Password" error message. My messages.log shows the following: WARNING [org.netbeans.modules.jira.Jira]: validate for [java.net,https://java.net/jira,username,******,username,******] has failed: Invalid Username or Password It appears the error is actually caused by a certificate problem. Connecting to java.net's SVN repository allowed me to accept the java.net SSL cert permanently, and then I was able to log in using the same credentials that caused the failure above. The JIRA plugin should a) detect certificate errors b) give the correct failure message when attempting to authenticate and c) allow the user to accept the certificate from the JIRA UI.
