Not sure where my last long description of this problem went. After submitting it, it said it couldn't find the email addres I CC'd to which was my email address cloud.billy@yahoo.com.So to be short when you down any of the 3 Python plugins to Netbeans 6.8, AVG 9.0 on my Win 7 Ultimate OS laptop flags the Python.exe file that gets installed as malware, quarantines it, then Netbeans starts locking up on startup saying it cant find Python, then my machine could not access my cable modem which required a drive wipe, Win 7 reinstall, full software reinstall, just to se the bad file reappear when I tried loading all availiable plugins again. I removed the file via AVG, then reinstalled the Java EE 6 SDK but it w/not reinstall Netbeans, so I got the Netbeans6.8 All Install file from Netbeans.org & reinstalled it, then I added all plugins except the 3 Python plugins because I don't know which or all of the 3 have the bad Python.exe file, but w/o loading these specific plugins, Netbeans works OK I think. At least it should work for Java files that I will need during my Java programming class that starts on 30 Dec 09. I don't really even know what Python is except that it is a programming language or script like Ruby popular in UNIX systems. But I'm pretty sure I won't need it during my Java programming class. Just thought the Python group might want to know their file appears to be corrupted at least reported by AVG in Win 7, but not sure about other versions of Windows or other OS's. Here is my initial bug report that didn't get submitted:I downloaded the Java EE 6 SDK windows file from Sun's download site. This download included Glassfish V3 & Netbeans 6.8 to get ready for a Java Class I'm going to start on 30 Dec 09. Everything loaded fine & worked until I selected all of the plugins availiable & downloaded them. After the plugin download, of which Python.exe was a part of, AVG 9.0 on Win 7 32 bit Ultimate Student Version said that the Python.exe file was Malware & quarentined the file. Without this file availiable Netbeans stopped working giving errors that it couldn't find the python file. After a few dats on Xmas, my machine w/not go online requiring a complete wipe & reinstall of Win 7. Not sure if the Python file was the cause or not. After a few days reinstalling software, I Reinstalled the Java Sdk & AVG flagged the Python file as malware after the plugin download as before. After the python file was removed. I searched the drive & registry for python remnants. Found none. Tried uninstall/reinstall of SDK. Gave errors during the reinstall saying it couldn't find the Python file to update it & said to look at a path variable & update it to find the python file. The Sdk installed ok minus the python errors but didn't reinstall Netbeans. Didn't see Netbeans in Uninstall list to uninstall after uninstalling it the first time. Went directly to the Netbeans site & downloaded the Netbeans 6.0 All for Windows file. This file installed Netbeans 6.8. This time I'm installing all plugins except the 3 Python plugins, because I'm not sure which of the 3 or if all 3 load in the corrupted python.exe file. Is this file really a corrupted malware file, or is AVG 9.0 just mis identifying it as such. AVG seems pretty adamant that is is a great threat & quarantines & deletes the file every time. Is there another place to get an uncorrupted python.exe plugin until this one is fixed. I don't really need Python or even know what it is other than it is a popular UNIX Programming language or script like Ruby. I'm pretty sure I don't need a Python plugin for my JAVA Programming class as long as Netbeans works fine with Java programs without it. Just thought the Python guys would want to know that their plugins seem to at least AVG as malware. Billy Cloud. cloud.billy@yahoo.com 27 Dec 09. I see nobody else reporting this issue but me.

I'm sorry you had difficulties. It's unfortunate that AVG was misguided. Since I don't use AVG, this was never an issue for me, and as such am closing as WORKSFORME.
