Although each build seems to have a distinctive app name ("NetBeans 6.5", "NetBeans Dev $Timestamp", etc), the installer
seems to like creating first a folder into /Applications and then putting all the NetBeans versions in there
(/Applications/NetBeans)

The vast majority of OSX applications *don't do this* nor do OSX users. All applications that are going to be used
generally sit under /Applications directly.

This also makes it easy to look for it via the "Applications" sidebar link in Finder or by using a "dock stack" for
Applications and just picking the app for the list/grid.

Since most NetBeans IDE users will generally have only 1 version of the IDE installed, maximum two, I'd say it makes
sense to put that at toplevel, under /Applications directly.

+1 - we could easily just create the appropriate directories in Applications/. This might get a little messy when the installer installs some other runtimes
(there's not much use to putting the Glassfish install into applications, since you can't launch it as a Mac OS app - though one suggestion would be to put it in
Applications/Utilities to get it out of the way more), but it's probably worth it - the NetBeans folder in Applications is an extra layer of navigation users have to
do to start NetBeans, which is not typical for other Mac apps, and I have never thought it was a good idea.
